For some, exercise is a necessary evil. Something they MUST do to lose weight. It’s dull, boring, and to be honest there are many more things you could and would rather be doing.
But it doesn’t have to be like that, you don’t have to dread working out. You can have fun, yes fun and get fit. Not only that you can release any stress that work, home, the kids may have caused you this week.
So what is this magic cure?
That’s right I love Boxercise, always have and I suspect I always will but I know some lovely ladies worry. So lets’s see if we can bust at least two common Boxercise myths.
It will give you big arms.
No, sorry it won’t. First of all it takes a whole load of hard, specific work and great nutrition to build big muscles. Hitting the pads and doing press ups will not lead to ‘big’ arms.
Nope. Boxercise is not aggressive. Boxercise is a no contact activity. The only punching you do, is on the pad. You don’t have to get in the ring or fight each other. Actually rather than being aggressive we end up smiley and sweaty as we relieve the stress of the day.
Hopefully by now you are interested enough to find out what Boxercise can do for you.
Yes, I hear you cry… well here goes.
You get to punch, safely. Yippee 🙂 This is the biggest stress reliever I can think of. Has work been awful? Punch it out. Were you late for everything today? Punch it out. Did the car breakdown? Punch it out. Do you feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? Punch it out. Are you just having one of those days? Punch it out.
It’s good Cardio, no don’t switch off. I know many people are now focused on strength as the fat burning exercise of choice and yes I am a believer in having a strength programme but it’s the combination of cardio and strength that is amazing. Boxercise makes you sweat, smile, burn calories and that magic word ‘tone’.
During PT or fitness sessions the same areas are often mentioned when my girls approach me for help. They grab the skin under their arms or grab their tummy and say I just want rid of this. Again Boxercise can play a massive part in this.
It is fast paced and an amazing full body workout. Yes we use our arms a lot, but we also use our shoulders, back, legs, core, butt. The classes are focused on improving fitness levels but also on happiness and enjoyment.
Just think with Boxercise you are getting the benefits of strength exercises combined with the benefits of HIIT training. Like Muhammad Ali and Lean in 15 Joe Wicks rolled into one 😉
Boxercise is for YOU. It is great for getting fit, increasing self esteem, blasting away the blues and making new friends.
So come along, give it a go and get fit with HIIT but without getting HIT …oh dear I need to stop now.
I hope to see you at my class on Thursday, St Teresas Church Hall, Heaton, Newcastle Upon Tyne, but if that is too far for you, you can search for a local class.
